Happy holidays from the Johnson family to yours!
I’ve spent a lot of time this year caring for myself, and in an effort to spread the love, I wanted to share with you my 2019 gift guide. If you’re shopping for a loved one or looking for items to put on your own list, here are a few of my favorite things that have helped me in my health and wellness journey this past year (and beyond). I know this is a little late for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but I’m sure you’ll find good deals on these all month long. If you’re anything like me, you still have a lot of shopping that needs to be done. This was a ton of fun to put together and I hope you enjoy!
If you are interested in essential oils and aromatherapy, a diffuser is an absolute must-have. This one from Eden’s Garden is simple, but beautiful. I love the calming light option, so it makes you feel like you have a candle lit without the fumes from the fragrance.
These aromatherapy hot packs were DELICIOUS when I was pregnant. I would heat them up and place them on my aching ligaments, to ease my painful contractions, and my sore back. They’re still fantastic a year postpartum. I like to put them on my neck or on my kidneys to target the adrenals after a hard day. They have a very subtle scent that is soothing. Add to this a warm beverage of your choice and you’ll be feeling calm in no time.
I am just in love with Melissa Urban’s new Whole30 Friends and Family Cookbook. The recipes in here are super simple, but are truly the best of the best of Whole30 recipes. This book would be great to have during a January Whole30- trying hosting a small gathering of your friends in the middle of the month when you’re feeling a bit homebound.
This isn’t just body oil to help your skin be more soft and moisturized. It will do that, but that’s not the only reason why this is here (I’m a strong believer that the “wellness” industry is often mistaken as the beauty industry- they are not the same!!). As a mom, showers can be the most basic form of self care. Because they’ve become special me-time, I’ve created a bit of a ritual around them. I dry brush, shower, and then slather this Yuzu Cannabliss body oil all over my body before I am totally dried off. It has such a calming, grounding scent, feels great, and is the perfect way to start or end (or something in the middle) my day.
If you have a friend or family member looking to do some real pampering and self care, I just love the Primally Pure Spa Kit. It comes with a dry brush to stimulate the lymphatic system and boost your immune system. You really can’t go wrong with any of their products, but this set would make the perfect gift. For anyone who is looking to ditch coffee in favor of longer-lasting energy without the jitters, check out Rasa. This blend of herbs makes the perfect coffee alternative. I am a huge fan of the Cacao blend- it’s so good blended up with a little coconut butter and honey, with cinnamon and cardamom. Their sampler pack makes a great stocking stuffer. I’ve been a barre3 patron for about five years now. It’s healed my back pain, given me strength and flexibility, supported me through double pregnancies and postpartum periods, and challenges me even still. While they offer class packages to those with nearby local studios, I do recommend the online access pass to those who don’t have access, can’t afford regular classes, or just simply can’t make it out of the house on a regular basis and would like an at-home workout. These are by far my favorites.
This was the year that yoga became an important piece of my mind-body-spirit self care practice. So, I asked for a hardcore yoga mat for my birthday. This is a beauty. Once I broke it in, it has a comfortable grip. It’s sturdy and heavy. I am just a huge fan. I got it in a lovely striped blue to support my throat chakra.
Even if you’re not a believer in the healing power of crystals, these gorgeous bracelet sets from My Metaphysical Maven make a fun, personal gift. When I put on my bracelets each morning, I use them to help me set an intention for the day. Each time I look at them, I’m reminded of my intention and grounded in the present moment. The Universal Love Set would make a beautiful gift for yourself.
I am a total newbie to CBD, as I just finished breastfeeding a few months ago. If you’re looking for a great brand, I am so far loving Charlotte’s Web oils. I’ve enjoyed the mint chocolate 17mg oil and looking forward to trying the gummies. Even at half dose, I feel a lovely sense of calm and have being sleeping beautifully since starting it. My hubby’s calling it my catnip, as it uplifts me just a bit. In fact, since starting it, I’ve had less of an interest in a glass of wine at night. Coincidence? Who knows!
If you are looking to give yourself the gift of health this year, you have an opportunity beginning on January 1st! My Whole30 WholeLife program begins on the first day of the new decade. If you’re ready for a shift, now if your time. I’m opening up my program EARLY to my waitlist only and giving them a discount. So head on over and get on it so that you get first dibs and early access!
I hope that this list has been helpful to you. I’d love to hear if you also love any of these items or if you end up purchasing something on here for a loved one (that includes yourself, btw).
